When an online store is not selling, the instinct is to buy more traffic. But if the store converts poorly, more traffic simply means paying more for the same disappointing result. Improving conversion rate makes every riyal or dollar of advertising work harder.
Use this checklist to find the leaks.
Product pages
- Clear, honest photos. Multiple angles, real context, and zoom.
- Specific descriptions. Answer the questions a shopper would otherwise ask: size, material, delivery, use.
- Visible price and offer. No surprises, including shipping costs.
- Reviews and social proof. Real customer feedback near the buy button.
- A single obvious call to action. The add-to-cart button should be impossible to miss.
Trust
- Show your policies. Returns, delivery times and contact details should be easy to find.
- Offer familiar payment methods for each market you serve, including local options.
- Display security and brand signals without cluttering the page.
Checkout
- Reduce steps and fields. Every extra field loses buyers.
- Allow guest checkout and make coupon fields unobtrusive.
Speed and mobile
- Fast pages. Compress images and remove unused apps and scripts.
- Mobile first. Most shoppers browse on their phones, so test the full journey on one.
Measure before and after
You cannot improve what you do not measure. Track the full funnel: product views, add-to-cart, checkout started and purchases. The step with the biggest drop is where to start.
Test one change at a time
Make a change, give it enough time to gather data, and keep what works. Small improvements compound: a modest lift at each stage multiplies across the whole journey.
Then scale the ads
Once the store converts well, increasing ad spend becomes much safer, because each additional visitor is more likely to buy. Our analytics and CRO service and web and e-commerce development services are built for exactly this.
